ABOUT THE ARTISTS

BOBBY FRICTION is a UK-based DJ/Artist who has represented the British Asian sound as a DJ all over the world and has built a reputation as a genre mixing Asian turntablist from Asia to the US, and from the Middle East to the whole of Europe. His British Asian Urban compilation 'Friction' (On Sony India) has already sold 120,000 copies in India since its release (Oct 2004) and stayed at number 1 for 14 weeks. It has quite simply been a phenomenon and is seen by many across Asia as THE definitive album of the British/US Asian music scene. Bobby also released 'Bobby Friction & Nihal Presents' (V2 Records) with Nihal, his BBC Radio 1 partner, at the end of 2004 and it has also come to be seen as a definitive Asian Compilation for the UK and Europe, and a great reflection of the music they play on Radio 1. A regular face on TV in the UK, Bobby starred in the BBC 1 documentary 'This England' and recently fronted the Channel 4 TV show 'Bollywood Star'. He has also presented the documentary 'The Countryside Sucks' on Channel 4. As 2005 comes to a close, one thing for sure is Brit-Asian music is growing, its fans are growing and Bobby's place at the centre of it seems assured!

ABOUT DIDJITAL

didJital was created in Los Angeles, out of love for this musical genre (world-tribal-electronica), and out of frustration with the current Los Angeles club scene. Over the past couple of years, drum n bass lost it's melodious layers, trance always lacked an interesting drum beat, trip hop was long gone, breakbeat.. love it but few get it, and house - how much disco can you take? Listen in, be won over. For us in Southern California that share the same taste of combining what is good in the underground with something a little different... after all, the hips love exotic rhythms more than just the scientifically blasé 4/4 beat.
